Genre
The entertainment genre covers a vide variety of aspects
that caters for a large audience. Some features they include are
televison & film, music, celebrity gossip, sport and anything that
generally entertains.In Britain alone there are around 40 official
entertainment magazines that are available to buy from many newsagents
and shops. However becuase of the specificity they arent too popular.
for example, 'Jazzwise' is a magazine that is catered for people
interested in jazz music which is a small percentage of people overall.
Circulation for this genre- especially celebrity gossip-has been on a
decline, however, due to more people accessing their gossip on the
internet. 'Now' had a 21% drop in circulation of its print and digital
copies year-on-year, Closer down 20%, Heat 17%, and Grazia 13%. this
genre is specifically suffereing as well due to social media.
